Sinful Colors - Why Not

I do absolutely love this color, it is one of my favorite blues that I have. I'm not crazy about creme colors, I do like shimmers the best, but this just snuck up on me and stole my heart.

Why Not - this polish is a creme bright blue. The picture is pretty accurate to the color in real life. I have 1 coat here, but for some reason it took a really long time to dry.

I got this polish at Walgreens for about $1.99.

Do you like how I've set up my blog with the pricing tags and telling you how much I got the polish for?
Is there any other way you would like me to do this better?
Any thing else?

Konad Stamp M66

I've had this design loaded in my camera for a while, it's just been needed to be downloaded to my computer from there, but of course that is the most difficult part. I've also been going through Midterms for the last couple of weeks and that has been taking up a lot of my time!
But now I should be back to posting on a regular basis and I have a bunch of images that still need to be posted because I was still doing my nails through Midterms, I just didn't have time ot upload them or write a whole post about them.

But now to the actual post.
I finally used my Konad plate! And let me say that it was so much easier to use than the MASH plates, all the little lines came out perfectly the first time, I was so amazed with the difference! But I still love my MASH plates, even with their fickle-ness.

I did stamp using m66 on both of this designs, the red design is my left hand, while the green design is right hand.
I love the little lotus flower! It is so pretty and delicate!

With some more practice I'm sure the cherry blossom branches would come out better.

I tried stamping twice onto my middle finger, here, and that's why it's all messed up.

Polishes Used:
Red: ORLY Moonlit Madness (Bought for around $7-8 from a local beauty salon)
Green: Sinful Colors Last Chance (Bought for $1.99 at Walgreens)
Grey: Sinful Colors Slate (Bought on sale for $.99 at Walgreens)

MASH 2012 Plates - Review and Pictures

These are actually my first plates, I decided on the MASH 2012 plates because they seemed to have the widest variety of designs and the the best reviews for the price. Also, most bloggers said that these would be the best plates for beginning stampers because they do have such a wide variety of designs and are easy to work with.

These are MASH plates, numbers 26-50. They did come packaged well; they were indivually wrapped and had the protective blue cover, so they were not going to get scratched at all during shipping!
They also have the paper backing so they don't have sharp edges, I didn't have a problem pulling off the cover at all; most people say they cut themselves, but with the backing it was super easy!

Now to some images!

You do need to remove this cover from the plates or they will not work.

Now on to viewing the plates!

Image 35, I could not get this one to photograph for the life of me!

These are all just such great images and patterns! I have so many ideas for them!
I also like that they have a very wide variety of styles, like so many people say; from animals to floral, geometric, elemental, it really has it all!
It even has full nail designs, tips, and small sigal images. I didn't even notice the tips before I bought it, I was just looking at all of those gorgeous full nail designs!
I also bought one Konad plate along with this that I will be reviewing at a later time.
But of course along with this wonderful pictures I've got to know how it stamps, right?
I bought a Konad Double Ended stamper to go along with this, because I've heard from like everyone that nothing really works except a Konad stamper. So I'll be using that to practice my stamping as well as show you guys how well these work.
I'll start with my polishes I know will stamp, like Sinful Colors Black on Black, most of the Sally Hansen line, and more!
(Actually SC Black on Black did not seem to stamp very well for me, it was not very pigmented.)

I used MASH-39 here, Pure Ice Taupe Drawer for base color and Sinful Colors Let's Talk for stamping.
I didn't get the print exactly straight on my nails.. But I think it came out okay. This was my absolutely first time stamping on nails!
I do really like stamping, it's really easy to get the designs out and you don't have to worry about doing them by hand with acrylic, which can be very time consuming. This took me about an hour because I kept messing up the stamp and taking it off; I used OoohShinies method of taking off the stamp while still leaving the base coat there (link below).
It also took awhile to find a color that worked with Taupe Drawer and still stamped good...

For help with my stamping, I looked at these very helpful posts: by Rebeccalikesnails and OoohShinies. They do have great tips in all aspects and make it very easy to just pick up my plates and begin, they wrote everything I need to know, from where to buy everything to what I'll need to what not to do.

I bought these plates online, off of Amazon, for $15.99 + free shipping, they were such a steal!

Black and Creme

I saw this design in an ad and just had to try and duplicate it, and I think I did a pretty good job.
Here is the add:

Unfortunately, I don't have the pointed nails that really tie this look together, but my nails still came out looking good. I did match the colors pretty closely because Illamasqua is too expensive of a polish for me to buy at $17 a bottle from Sephora or $21.43 from Illamasqua.com
I used Revlon Top Speed - Cotton Sheets for the cream color and Sinful Colors - Black on Black for the black.

I used Seche Vite top coat over these two.

I honestly thought that the hearts would have been harder to do, but I just used a small striping brush and dipped that into the bottle of Sinful Colors Black on Black to get a smooth line, and then painted the rest of my nail as usual.

I bought the Revlon on sale from Walgreens for about $3.50 and Sinful Colors was $1.99 from Walgreens.

Dotted Purple

I swear this is the last time that I'll do this! Probably not...
But I haven't had much time on my hands to do an actually full manicure with school and work and stuff, that to keep posting at least on a kind of regular basis I've just been making designs over my swatches.

This one I got kind of lazy on, I wanted to do dots, and I thought I might do a gradient, but when I looked at my purples I'm missing a color in between to make the colors look cohesive.
So I just used two colors and did them in two different sized dots radomly. I also still haven't gotten my dotters, so this was done with a small paint brush.

Colors used: Base - Sinful Colors Let's Talk
Darker Dots - Revlon Grape Icy
Lighter Dots - Revlon Gum Drop

The Revlon nail polish is their scented line and I will do a review on this line, or at least these two nail polishes, a bit later.

Revlon (Both) - $3.27 each (Wal-mart)

Purple Days

So purple is my new favorite color, but my nail polish collection doesn't seem to show that.
I have only recently started collecting purple colors, like within the past week. I really don't know why they haven't caught my eye before now, or that I haven't even noticed that I only owned about five purples before last week; all of them being very dark.

Sinful Colors Let's Talk - This color is very hard to place. One minute it looks just purple, the next it looks purple with a blue undertone, then it looks blue! Definitely a strange color but still so pretty and one of my favorites. It definitely does have a blue undertone, that when the light hits it becomes dominant and that's all you really see. It has a little bit of shimmer in it, not very noticable in all lights, but when the light hits it you definitely see it. I really had a hard time capturing the purple color in my pictures... The blue really wanted to come out. I tried all sorts of different angles and lighting.

Really messy clean up... I was in a hurry to get to class that ended up being cancelled.

Black and Gold

I did this nail polish the other day, finally using the Hunger Games nail polish that I got in the mail a while ago. With it being such a bright sparkle I didn't really know how to use it, whether I wanted to wear it over something or just do a few coats and wear just that. Finally I got over my indecisiveness and just picked it up and put it on.

I wore China Glaze Electrify over Sinful Colors Black on Black, which is just a creme black and on my ring finger I just wore it plain; 3 coats and the glitter was solid enough to cover up my nail.

Electify definitely has a fiery shine to it that I couldn't really capture in the photos. I do think it would have looked better if I had done a gradient rather than just painted it on, but I'll just have to do that next time.

More Greens

I've been on a green kick lately, and before the other day I had only owned one green polish! Well, now I only have three...

But today I tried something a little bit different. I layered my polishes, I didn't really know how this would turn out because I had never used the top polish before and I hadn't even looked at swatches of it before.

Here I am wearing Sinful Colors Let Me Go and Sinful Colors Last Chance.

Last Chance - a dark, creme green that goes on very smooth. It did go on very smooth, but unfortunately I got a bottle that the brush was a little bit messed up and flared at the bottom; I am seriously considering returning it for this reason because it was difficult to apply. It went on with only one coat.

Let Me Go - it has a pearlized sheen, and actually looks purple in the bottle, but this color goes on very thin and only gives the color beneath it a kind of pearl look. It did make the dark green lighter and gave it an almost duo-tone. It did bring a yellow into the green as well, and put a little shimmer.
When it rounds to the edges of the nails (the shadows), in some lights it almost looks deep blue but in others it still looks like the deep green that Last Chance originally was.

(After Let Me Go is added)

I will use Let Me Go on top of more polishes to show the different effects that it has on different colors and such.
Here is the bottle of let me go so you can see what it looks like, it definitely has a purple tone to it in the bottle, but as you can see on my nails the purple doesn't show up at all.
